Top Ten Tuesday - Books I Liked More/Less Than I Thought I Would

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. I have always enjoyed reading everyone's Top Ten lists and I figured, why shouldn't I get in on the fun? I'll start with the books I enjoyed more than I thought I would.

Through Her Eyes Amaretto Flame Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) Leverage I Now Pronounce You Someone Else

All of these books offer something different. With each of them, I knew I would probably enjoy it, but I was overwhelmed with how much more I liked them. Wither, for instance, isn't the type of book I usually read. Those future, science fiction books are 9 times out of 10 not for me. I couldn't believe how much I loved that book! It has made me want to try and read more books like it.

I Know Pronounce You Someone Else was a surprise for me because occasionally, I'll see the cover and think, eh. With the impression the cover made on me, I thought that the book would just be "okay" like the cover. I was wrong. Leverage just blew my mind.

Less

Love and Leftovers City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) Dreamland Keeping the Moon
I love novels in verse. Ellen Hopkins is the queen of verse novels, in my opinion. Love & Leftovers was my first verse, non-Ellen Hopkins book. I did enjoy it, but not as much as I thought I would. Then there's the fourth in The Mortal Instruments series. I had super high expectations for that book because I loved the first three so terribly much. It fell so far from what I was expecting.

Shiver was one of those books that was constantly being raved about for months before I read it. I was bit by the hype bug and the story didn't match the hype I was hearing for me. The writing was fantastic, though. Last, but not least, are those two Sarah Dessen books. I'm a huge fan of her works and those two just didn't do it for me compared to the others.
