October's Paperback Pick

When life is throwing lemons at you and you just want to escape, what do you do? I pick up a book and read. Bonus if it happens to be the October Paperback Pick of the Month aka Rookie Move by Sarina Bowen.

I've loved everything she's written that I've read, and this was no different. I loved it. There's some authors where when you read their books, it's like going home. You can just know you're going to get a good read, so you cozy up in your favorite place to read (happens to be a recliner for me, if you're curious), take a deep breath, and relax because you get to get lost in someone else's world for a little bit.

Rookie Move was just the kind of book I needed to read today. And I'm really, really excited to see what will happen in future books in this series because I met a lot of interesting characters. Time to go preorder!

In high school they were the perfect couple—until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold...

Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach—who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist—his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.

Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do—and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast....
